To the editor:
Ron Peltier is the best candidate for city council. He will move our city toward the proper stewardship needed for Bainbridge to help preserve this uniquely beautiful island.
Over the years almost every beautiful, interesting, unique community I can think of has suffered from gentrification. Bainbridge Island is starting to rapidly suffer from the gentrification process also. Bainbridge is one of those rare beautiful places not able to be duplicated and should not needlessly be spoiled. People moved here because of this uniqueness, but like other places where gentrification has occurred it is not wanted by most of the people living here.
As Bainbridge has become popular many people have responded by moving here to enjoy our wonderful community. This increase in population has created a larger government with expanding ideas, budgets, and developments (not all wanted or needed). Most people moved here to escape these very same things and instead were looking for a richer, friendlier more natural environment.
Ron is the only candidate willing to question to the current city’s expansion and prefers to protect the natural wonders we have. He is willing to “think out of the box” to problem solve without ruining our environment, to say “No” when no is the correct answer.
With his respect, intellect and integrity he will protect the limited island resources of fresh water and open space. These are the reasons I love Bainbridge Island and are the reasons I will vote for Ron.
I hope you will vote for Ron Peltier too!
