The jogger’s mile, the first event of the weekly Kiwanis All-Comers community track meet, was highlighted with two standout performances Monday.

In the run, participants predict their finishing time beforehand, then hit the track — sans stopwatches or cell phones — and attempt to finish as close as possible to their initial guess.

Karl Stock was this week’s winner, finishing just one second faster than his predicted time, and slight speed demon Alex Miller, 11, again wowed the crowd with his incredible 5:39 finishing time — exactly the same time he ran the week before.

In the other events, several names made repeat appearances on the winners’ list.

Kaitlyn Davis dominated the 7-year-old bracket, winning all five events she entered.

Ema Delecki, 4, again won four races, as did Wakana Soyama, 8, and Mia Hale, 10.

Katie Olesen and Ella Piland each won three heats in the highly competitive, super-sized 9-year-old bracket.

Wren Knight, 6, and Mona Obayashi, 11, also won three races each.

In the boys bracket, Calvin Moe, 11,  won five events and then ran the last leg on the winning 4×100 relay.

Rowan Schick, 9, won four events, while Asher Dejong, 3, Howard Howlett, 6, Monte Horwitz, 8, and Finn Archbold, 10, each won three.

In the 400-meter run, four high school boys ran under 59 seconds, with Wyatt Longley edging out James Payne for the win.

In the open heat of the 4×100 relay, the winning team, comprised of all boys, finished just one second ahead of an all-girls team, perhaps setting the stage for a repeat rivalry at next week’s meet.
