November Pearls to perform on island
Published 10:33 am Tuesday, July 14, 2015
November Pearls is an up-and-coming Seattle jazz-folk band headed by Shelita Burke, of Bainbridge Island, and Tom Ball.
The band has only recently returned from a world tour, which they began earlier this year after performing at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.
This currently unsigned group formed in Seattle last year and is now based in Paris. November Pearls will perform at the Treehouse Café in Lynwood at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16.
Although November Pearls is an unsigned act without an EP or full-length album, it hasn’t stopped them from sharing their music with the world. The group financed their own tour by playing a few dozen shows, including public performances and private parties. Their approach is reciprocal, utilizing support from a growing international fan base and putting every spare penny back into the music.
Burke is a young singer-songwriter born in California, but raised in the Seattle area and who lived for a time on Bainbridge Island. She plays Americana, folk and soul music. She is known for her striking vocals and creative songwriting.
There is no cover charge for this 21-and-over event, though donations are accepted.
