New exhibits coming to The Island Gallery

The Island Gallery presents Floralscapes, watercolor paintings by Sandy Haight, plus encaustics by Karen Chaussabel as the gallery’s new exhibits in July.

The new artwork comes to the Winslow gallery from July 10 through Aug. 2.

A First Friday artists’ reception is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 10. Music on the plaza will be provided by the Julie Duke Band.

Haight has focused on close-up views of plant life to take the viewer into a new abstracted world, an immersion into color and design depths while retaining the realism of the bloom. She is a signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society.

The gallery also introduces Chaussabel, a Bainbridge artist whose encaustic and ink compositions, “Harvest of the Heart,” reflect experiences in nature, across continents and time, expressed through color, gesture and molten wax.

The Island Gallery is located at 400 Winslow Way E., Suite 120.
