Directors needed for 2016 One Acts

Bainbridge Performing Arts has issued an open call for potential directors for the 2016 One Acts, which run from January 22 to 24 next year.
Produced by Tom Challinor and Swinging Hammer Productions, the One Acts offer a collection of short plays by David Ives — a delicious antidote for the gloominess of winter.
Time Magazine extols Ives’ work, calling it “Theatre that aerobicizes the brain and tickles the heart. Ives is a mordant comic who has put the play back in playwright … A wondrous wordmaster.”
Challinor, who’s familiar locally for his leadership of the BPA Shakespeare Society, said, “Theatre artists who want to try their hands at directing can have difficulty finding the opportunities for various reasons. The collaborative nature of this production will allow for learning from others with different stage experiences, making it ideal for both seasoned and rising directors.”
This call is also an opportunity for directors interested in establishing or diversifying a relationship with BPA.
Interested parties are requested to submit their qualifications directly to Challinor at tom@swinginghammerprods.com no later than Wednesday, July 15.
Respondents may also mail their qualifications to: Bainbridge Performing Arts, Attn: Tom Challinor, 200 Madison Ave. North, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110; or send by fax to 206-842-0195.
All submittals should include the respondent’s name, address, contact numbers and email address as well as professional credits and references.
BPA is also seeking qualified production personnel for the One Acts, and parties with appropriate credentials are encouraged to respond.
Directors are paid positions, and all production positions are compensated.
