Author James Longhurst visits Eagle Harbor Books with his latest, “Bike Battles: A History of Sharing the American Road” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18.
Since Americans have been riding bikes for more than a century, why are most American cities still so ill-prepared to handle cyclists? A historian and avid cyclist, Longhurst tackles that question by tracing the debates between American bike riders, motorists and pedestrians.
