There will be a special brown-bag lunch with London-based writer Alix Christie, author of “Gutenberg’s Apprentice,” in the used book annex at Eagle Harbor Book Company at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1.
This exciting literary debut evokes one of the most momentous events in history: the birth of printing in medieval Germany. It is a story of invention, intrigue and betrayal, rich in atmosphere and historical detail as told through the lives of the three men who made it possible.
Based on real people, Christie gives a wonderfully rich and accurate description of the world at the time.
The event is free and open to the public.
