The Coast Guard rescued a missing 60-year-old man off of Restoration Point early Monday morning.
The man was identified as Norman Dormat.
The early morning rescue started at approximately 1:04 a.m., after Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound received a report from the Blake Island State Park rangers of an overdue 8-foot boat that was coming from Manchester Pier to Blake Island State Park.
The Coast Guard launched a HH-65D Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Port Angeles and a 45-foot motor lifeboat from Coast Guard Station Seattle.
The helicopter crew located the 8-foot boat along the southeast point on Bainbridge Island at approximately 5:50 a.m.
The boat crew from Station Seattle arrived on scene shortly after to take Dormat to Manchester Pier, where medical assistance was waiting.
