Several Bainbridge teams are getting ready for a big week of district and state playoff action.

The boys’ soccer team will host a state playoff game for the first time since 2001 as they take on the Decatur Gators of the South Puget Sound League, the fifth seed out of District 3. The Gators made it after beating Mountain View 2-1 on Saturday.

Decatur (13-2) has shut out its opponents seven times this season.

The first round match is at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Since it is a state event, admission will be charged at the match. The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for students.

The boys’ soccer team also pulled off a “double” of titles this season as they won a 3A academic state championship to go with its Metro League championship. The team posted a 3.579 GPA.

The girls’ lacrosse team will also host a state tournament semifinal game at 7 p.m. Wednesday against Issaquah. It will still be at Bainbridge High School.

Bainbridge is led by Jaclyn Biggers, who leads the team in goals with 47 and leads the league in points per game with 7.86 despite playing in only seven games.
