Spartan athletics are in full swing at Bainbridge High School as eight teams kick off the fall season. While five veteran head coaches return, three first-year coaches have stepped into new roles as leaders of the golf and water polo programs. With just a week of practice under their belts, BHS’ head coaches share their insight on the upcoming season.

Coach: Andy Grimm, 13th year

2009 record: 5-5 (2-3 in Metro, third place)

Post-season result: District tournament, 44-6 loss to Lingbergh.

What needs to happen for the Spartans to be successful in their first contest against North Kitsap Sept. 3: “Be ready to play mentally and physically. Go to their house and get a win.”
