Pipe bombs found on Bainbridge Island without incident

The Washington State Bomb Squad safely detonated three pipe bombs Monday afternoon after a citizen reported seeing them in the area of Fletcher Bay Road and Lynnwood Center Road just after noon Monday, according to Bainbridge Police Lt. Sue Shultz.

Shultz said in a press release that a citizen reported there were two bombs, but officers found three explosive devices when they arrived at the scene.

Police contained the area and traffic was diverted until the WSP Bomb Squad arrived and quickly secured the devices, then detonated them without further incident.
