The girls softball team bested Enumclaw 2-0 this morning, earning them a place in the state title game this afternoon.

Spartans vs. O’Dea for 3A baseball state title
Bainbridge rallied to defeat No. 1-ranked Timberline 4-2 in 3A state baseball semifinal action yesterday at Safeco Field.
Trailing 2-0, the Spartans took advantage of several Timberline errors to score twice in both the sixth and seventh innings to earn a spot in the championship game today against O’Dea, which advanced with a 7-3 win over West Valley of Yakima.
The Spartans, who had won only once in five previous appearances in the state tournament, started their rally in the sixth inning on an infield hit by Brendan Gawlowski, who advanced to third on pitcher Colin Feldtman’s double. A run scored on a Timberline error after a grounder to their shortstop. Kyle ßchneider reached on a fielder’s choice an out later that drove in a run for a 2-2 tie.
In the seventh, Mario McLaughlin reached base on an error, and eventually moved to third after Timberline bobbled consecutive sacrifice bunts by Mitch Main and Gawlowski. Feldtman walked to break the tie and a suicide-squeeze bunt by Will Martin scored Main for the final score.
Feldtman, who yielded two unearned runs in the second inning, ended the game in the seventh when he started a 1-6-3 double play.
Senior Colby Morse is expected to start for the Spartans in the championship game, which will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at Safeco.
An estimated 400 to 500 Bainbridge fans attended Friday’s game.
