Bainbridge Historical Museum has chosen its longest serving staff member to fill the position of former curator Lorraine Scott.
Rick Chandler has been working and volunteering with the museum since 2001. He will take on the curator role while maintaining his current positions of exhibit specialist and facilities manager.
“It seemed like a way to keep a good transition going,” Chandler said. “There’s a lot of material here I’m already familiar with.”
Bainbridge Historical Society Executive Director Hank Helm said there were more than 50 inquiries into the position.
Chandler has degrees from Cornell University and the University of California Los Angeles. He has also earned certificates in museum studies from the University of Washington.
