Kitsap Regional Library to suspend Live Homework Help program

Citing financial concerns, the Kitsap Regional Library has suspended its online Live Homework Help program, effective April 1.

Faced with budget reductions, KRL has decided not to renew the program, Tutor.com. The free service has been available to KRL card holders since 2006.

Students accessed Live Homework Help through the library website, www.krl.org , and were connected to live tutors who provided tutoring for students in grades K-12 and college on a variety of subjects, including math, science, social studies, English, SAT preparation and essay writing.

“This was not an easy decision,” said Carol Schuyler, KRL’s director of Support Services. “A large part of our mission is to reach out to students of all ages. Although Live Homework Help is a great resource, it has become prohibitively expensive.”

Other resources available for students through the library’s website include Opposing Viewpoints, CultureGrams, and the Learning Express Library
