The Gear Grinders, Bainbridge Island’s competitive mountain bike racing team, are holding a mountain bike and “cyclocross” race fundraiser, open to all comers, Saturday, Oct. 13 at Johnson Farm.

“The Farm Fresh Race is an all-comers mountain bike and cyclocross event for kids and adults of all skill levels,” said team spokeswoman Jo Vanderlee. “Our event features several loops on rolling terrain that take you around the Johnson Farm public land and neighboring trails.”

The Farm Fresh Race raises funds for the Gear Grinders Mountain Bike Team, the Bainbridge Island Mountain Biking Club and Friends of the Farm.

Aside from riding and racing, there will be games for kids, food, music, prizes and more.

Admission is $25 for the whole family.
