BHS boys sink SK 19-6 in water polo win

BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge High varsity boys water polo team swam and shot their way to a 19-6 win against the visitors from South Kitsap Wednesday, Oct. 11.

The victory nudged the Spartans’ overall season record to 10-1 (8-0 in league play).

Lead by the outstanding scoring efforts of feisty frosh Gabe Nathan (five goals), the island squad got ahead early and stayed way out front throughout the water contest.

Miles Hogger and Sam Chapman each scored four goals. Daniel DeFoe and Max Eyrich each put up two, while Thomas Defawe and Marshall Whittlesey scored one apiece as well.

It was the second of a doubleheader winning outing for Bainbridge, as well, the JV team having likewise licked SK 11-2 earlier in the evening.

The team played one more match at home, the very next day, against Newport, before hitting the road for a series of away matches.
