Mary Shirley Barnett died peacefully on March 28, 2017 in Virginia Mason Medical Center, Seattle, Washington.

Mary Shirley Barnett was born in Pittsfield, Maine to Ernest and Regina Shirley on Nov. 4, 1926. She graduated from Higgins Classical

Institute in Charleston, Maine and also graduated from The New England Hospital for Women and Children, as a registered nurse, in Boston, Massachusetts. She married Webster Gesner Barnett on Sept. 10,1949.

They have four children: Andrew, Stephen, Rebecca Barnett Campbell and Elizabeth Barnett; Five grand children and two great grandchildren.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will take place at 1:00pm on April 29 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Bainbridge Island, followed by reception in the parish hall.

Mary welcomed each individual with a warm and gracious heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She served her church family and community through volunteer efforts. Mary had a zest for travel and was fortunate to see many ports of call. Her passion for water led to many memorable beach adventures.
