And for your next step | Photo of the day 8.23

MJ Linford leads a class Thursday at BARN devoted to the Jacob’s Ladder bookbinding style.

She was joined by students from Bainbridge, Gig Harbor and Sequim.

“This is a model you are making — not a masterpiece,” she told her students. Mistakes made on the model, Linford advised, will remind her fellow book artists of the mistakes to avoid when preparing their final Jacob’s Ladder.

The class was part of what Linford calls her “book of the month club.”

“It’s making a book, instead of reading it,” she explained.
