Presidential comparison is ludicrous at best | Letters | Jan., 30

Mr. Olsen’s letter in the Jan. 23 edition (Inauguration should not have been shown”) charges that the schools (BIHS and Woodward) should not have allowed real-time viewing of the Presidential Inauguration.

He cites various reasons that are frankly not worth addressing. However, there is one glaring statement he makes that destroys his argument.

“The inconvenient fact is BISD students were not subject to stand-down on classes for the President Bush’s inauguration in 2000 and 2004.”

To compare the inauguration of the first African American president to the inauguration of the first president elected by the Supreme Court is at best ludicrous.
