To the editor:

“Love your parks!” Be on the lookout for this simple but important message — it appears right now on bright red and pink Valentine’s Day signs near our parks, trails, and recreation sites around the island through the end of February.

As a member of the board of directors of the Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation, I ask that you look for these signs and then take a moment to consider all of the things you love about the special outdoor places and spaces that we enjoy all year with our families, friends, loved ones and pets. We also ask that you consider making a donation to the Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation at biparksfoundation.org or through One Call For All. The work of improving and developing our wonderful system of parks and trails does not happen without support from the whole community.
