SEATTLE – The Lakeside Lions beat the Bainbridge Spartans 33-14 in a Metro Mountain Division matchup Saturday on Parsons Field in Seattle.

Bainbridge marched back down field but fumbled the ball on the 1-yard line.

On the Spartans’ next possession, Bainbridge scored on a fourth-and-one play and tied the game at 7-7 at the end of the first quarter.

The Spartans took a 14-7 lead in the second, but a Lions’ score with 4:30 left to play in the half again knotted the score, 14-all.

Lakeside scored on another pass play roughly two minutes later to move in front, 21-14, before halftime.

The Lions scored on a 34-yard run for the game’s final touchdown at the end of a turnover-filled third quarter.

Ben Fisher managed five carries for 13 yards, Carter Daniels went 4-for-10 including his touchdown and Max Wickline kicked in 1-for-3.

Quarterback Kyle Jackson managed 15 carries for -36 yards against a sack-happy Lions defense, though he again passed the century mark with his air attack. He passed for 142 total yards throughout the game.

That said, the Spartans’ receiving game was a mixed bag.

Max Wickline led the charge with two receptions for 26 yards.

Sam Roth managed one reception for 11 yards, Daniels chipped in two catches for 13 yards, Spartan juggernaut Oskar Dieterich completed only one reception for 10 yards. Fisher finished the game with three receptions for 82 yards.
