BAINBRIDGE – Riley Gregoire and Natalya Niehaus both went yard for the Spartans as BHS clobbered Eastside Catholic in girls fastpitch softball 10-0 last week.
Bainbridge plated runs in the first three innings to lead 3-0, and the Spartan bats got hotter as the team doubled its advantage to 6-0 after a three-run fourth inning.
Bainbridge scattered another four more runs across the next two innings to put a few more feathers in its cushion and the game was called in the sixth inning.
Gregoire went 3-for-4 at the plate, with a home run, three RBIs and three runs.
Niehaus had the other homer in the game, of course, and Bainbridge found its ample offense throughout the roster.
Megan Spray went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Emma Lindsay went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Lauren Vchulek went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Sara Colley got a double and an RBI on 1-for-2 batting, and Alyssa Costello also smacked a double-bagger for Bainbridge in the home game.
Deahna King pitched five innings to collect her fourth win (4-5 on the season). She allowed just one hit and had four strikeouts.
Bainbridge improved to 5-5 (4-1 Metro League) with the victory.
