It will be a busy week for the Spartans as the Bainbridge girls soccer, volleyball and swim teams host their first home meets.

The Bainbridge High junior varsity football team will see action first. The Spartans JV team welcomes North Kitsap to Memorial Stadium for a non-conference matchup at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8.

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, the Spartan girls soccer team will host their home opener against Central Kitsap at the Bainbridge stadium.

Varsity play gets underway at 6:15 in the non-league contest; the JV girls game is scheduled for 4:15 p.m.

The Spartans also play the Cougars in girls volleyball Tuesday.

Bainbridge will travel to Silverdale for volleyball games beginning at 5 p.m. with the JV squad, followed by the varsity matchup at 6:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, the Spartans C football team will play the Vikings on their home field in Poulsbo. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m.

It will be a busy week for the Spartan girls swim/dive team.

The Spartans open the season Wednesday, Sept. 10 against Mercer Island and Newport (Bellevue). The meet starts at 3:30 p.m. at the Mercer Island Beach Club.

The swim team has its first home meet at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12 at the Bainbridge Island Aquatics Center against Eastside Catholic.

Spartan swimmers will also host a varsity/junior varsity invitational against Central Kitsap, Port Angeles, Sehome, Marysville-Pilchuck and Marysville-Getchell on Saturday, Sept. 13. The meet starts at 1 p.m.

Bainbridge golfers will tee up their first meet at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 against Eastside Catholic at Wing Point Golf Course.

Also Thursday, the soccer team heads to Seattle for play against the Ingraham Rams at the Northwest Athletic Complex. Both varsity and JV games begin at 3:30 p.m.

Bainbridge hosts Olympic in girls volleyball this Thursday, as well.

Action starts at 5 p.m. with the C team playing the Trojans in the Commodore gym. The JV Spartans will play Olympic in the main gym, also at 5 p.m, followed by the varsity game at 6:30 p.m.

On Friday, Sept. 12, the Spartan golf team will play Chief Sealth in golf at the West Seattle Golf Club. The match starts at 3 p.m.

Finally, on Saturday, the Spartan gridders will play a rare early afternoon game against Cleveland at Seattle’s Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is at noon.

The Bainbridge cross country team will open its season with a varsity/JV invitational, also on Saturday, at Civic Stadium in Bellingham. The meet starts at 9 a.m.
