Spartans win 11 of 12 swim events

The Bainbridge swim team dominated Sequim 131-44 Oct. 11, the Spartans winning 11 of the 12 events, including taking the top three spots in four events.

The Spartans and Wolves began with the 200-yard medley relay. Emma Atchison, Lena Everett, Sara Kriegh and Uma Pal won with a time of 1 minute, 57.42 seconds. Cate Everett, Maya Wolf, Iris Lin and Amanda Herten finished third in 2:10.49.

Lena Everett bounced back into the pool and won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:11.65. Olivia Longridge came in third with a 2:19.38. Maya Geddes and Teagan Schneider were the two swimmers competing in the 200-yard individual medley. Geddes finished first in 2:22.97 while Schneider finished second in 2:43.29.

Pal finished first out of 29 entrants in the 50-yard freestyle in 26.4 seconds. Atchison ended third in 27.89.

Ella McRitchie finished first in the 1-meter diving event with 107.5 points. Montana Rist finished second with 102.85 and Lilly Hamilton third with 101.4.

Geddes earned her second gold of the day in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:05.85 while Lena Everett finished second in 1:07.81 and Evie Atchison third in 1:10.73.

Longridge and Herten finished first and second out of 21 entrants in the 100-yard freestyle with times of 1:01.3 and 1:03.21.Pal dominated the 500-yard freestyle with 5:54.1 while Lydia Deng came in third with 7:07.84.

Lena Everett, Lin, Emma Atchsion and Geddes won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:51.19. Longridge, Ilana Gonzales, Wolf and Beatrice Wilkinson earned third in 2:02.11.

Kreigh won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:05.83, Natalie Schramling finished second in 1:13.26 and Cate Everett third in 1:13.55.

The 100-yard backstroke was the only event Bainbridge did not win. Instead, Wolf finished second with 1:26.3 and Wilkinson third in 1:27.02. The Spartans ended with the 400-yard freestyle relay. Evie Atchsion, Kreigh, Sian Willey and Cate Everett won in 4:20.32. Herten, Ruthie Screen, Olyvia Shepard and Deng were second in 4:39.14.
