The Spartans hammered Ingraham but came up short against Bishop Blanchet in recent junior varsity boys basketball.

Bainbridge had a total team effort in its 66-32 thrashing of Ingraham in their Metro League matchup.

Blake Bieber, Casey Brink and Dawson Gonwick all scored in double figures for the Spartans, who ran away with the game after going up 18-2 in the first quarter.

Bainbridge had a bit of a letdown, however, last week against Blanchet.

Spartan JV Coach Henry Guterson said they were outscored 21-5 in the second quarter and never recovered.

“We got to keep working hard and getting better,” Guterson said.

“We play three teams for a second time soon and those are big games to show we are getting better,” he added.

Gonwick, a 6’3 sophomore, paced Bainbridge in the battle against the Braves. He finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The Spartans play West Seattle Jan. 14 on the road, and return to Bainbridge High for another Metro contest against Nathan Hale on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
