Spartans sideline Seahawks 9-4

SEATTLE – The top of the Spartan line-up — Kensey Baker and Morgan Lassoff — had three hits each to spark a pair of big innings in fastpitch softball to push Bainbridge past Seattle Prep 9-4 at Cal Anderson Park.

It was the Spartans’ fourth Metro League win in six games.

Sara Colley pitched four shutout innings to pick up her second win of the year for BHS.

The Spartans started strong, with three runs in the first inning, and tacked on another run in the top of the second for a 4-0 lead.

Bainbridge added four more runs in the fourth, to put BHS in front, 8-0.

Prep’s only offense, two runs, came in the bottom of the fifth.

Baker went 3-for-3 for the Spartans, with a double and a run scored. Lassoff finished 3-for-3, with two runs, and Anna Kozlosky was 2-for-4, with a double, triple, RBI and a run.

The win advanced Bainbridge to 6-2 (4-2 Metro League).
