SEATTLE – The Spartans picked up their second Metro League win of the season in girls varsity fastpitch softball after outlasting West Seattle 1-0 last week.
Kensey Baker hit a double and crossed the plate for the game’s only run in the top of the sixth inning, and Bainbridge held on to win in the low-scoring affair at the Southwest Athletic Complex.
Fellow Spartan Sara Colley went 1-for-2 at the plate while teammate Megan Spray was 2-for-4.
Colley earned her second win on the mound and pitched seven innings for BHS. She gave up three hits but had six strikeouts.
Bainbridge improved its overall record to 3-1 with the win, the team’s second in a row in the Metro (2-0 Metro League).
