Spartans notch next shutout in boys soccer

BAINBRIDGE – One for the thumb.

The Spartans finished last week’s schedule with their fifth shutout win of the season, with a 3-0 victory over the visitors from South Kitsap Friday.

The first half was a 0-all affair, but the Bainbridge varsity boys team came back strong in the second half to assure the win.

Goals were scored by Gerrit Mahling (two) and Glodi Kingombe (one).

Bainbridge remains the top ranked team in the Metro Sound Division with a league record of 5-1-1 (6-1-1 overall).

Garfield, the second-place team, has a league record of 5-2.
