BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge Spartans prevailed in a nail-biter of a swim meet against the Lakeside Lions at the Bainbridge Aquatic Center Tuesday.
The Spartans won, 97 to 86, and the meet was decided by the last race: the 400-yard freestyle relay.
The relay team of Sam Alpaugh, Aidan Wagner, Jem Bullock and Garrett Waite took first with a time of 3:27.02.
Bainbridge also notched a couple of state times.
Makai Ingalls and Kevin Houseman both swam a state time in the 100-yard backstroke.
Ingalls placed second in 54.88, while Houseman was third in 55.96.
The Spartans last home meet is Friday, Jan. 29 against O’Dea.
In earlier action, Bainbridge toppled Kennedy 102-81 on Tuesday, Jan. 26 and also bested Ballard on the road late last week.
