Spartans cruise past Rams, Rough Riders

Bainbridge earned a double win in girls gymnastics late last week, winning in a meet against Ingraham and Roosevelt at Roosevelt High.

SEATTLE – Bainbridge earned a double win in girls gymnastics late last week, winning in a meet against Ingraham and Roosevelt at Roosevelt High.

Bainbridge finished first with 154.05 points.

Ingraham was second with 139.9, while Roosevelt came in third, 136.05.

Bainbridge’s Sarah Rice was the all-around champion. She finished with 32 points. Fellow Spartan Miller Shor claimed second with 31.45.

Emma Chee was fifth for BHS (30.1) and Juliana Hinkley was eighth (29.15).

Rice was first on the beam (8.10) and the floor exercise (9.45). She also tied for second on bars with Shor, with a score of 7.4.

Chee also performed well on bars (7.3), as did Hinkley (6.7).

Hinkley also took third place on the beam with a score of 7.5.

Shor was sixth in the event (6.8), while Maddy Makami tied Chee for seventh place (6.7).

Other top performers for the Spartans in the floor exercise included Shor, who claimed third place with an 8.95, and Alathea Pippinger, with an 8.7. Chee scored an 8.6 in the event, and Makami, 6.7.

In the vault, Rice tied for third place with Shor (8.3). Willa Jones Irwin finished seventh (7.8) for Bainbridge.
