The Bainbridge Spartans girls swim team repeated as 2A state champions Nov. 15 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, winning by over 200 points and securing first-place finishes in many events.

Bainbridge earned a cumulative score of 411.5, and North Kitsap placed second with a score of 210. The state championship marks the ninth in school history for the Spartans.

“What a great season with a fun, hardworking group of girls! They pushed themselves, supported one another, and achieved both personal and team goals,” Bainbridge coach Krista Pal said. “I’m so proud of their performance at state this past weekend. We were competitive across all events, and our depth made it possible to bring three strong relays.”

In 4A, South Kitsap freshman Tessa Hurguy finished first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:04.73.
