The final three in a series of away non-league matches against visiting out-of-state opponents were something of a slog for the Bainbridge High varsity boys lacrosse team recently.
Following a 10-7 loss on March 30 against Nanaimo, from British Columbia, at Mercer Island High School, the Spartans suffered three straight losses, which left them with an overall season record of 6-4 (1-0 in conference) and in the top spot of the 3A Metro League standing.
First, the very next day, the island squad was bested 11-9, again at Mercer Island High School, by the guests from Centennial (Nevada).
Then, on Thursday, April 4, the Spartans trekked to Oregon to play two matches, the first against Jesuit, which they lost 9-8.
Finally, on Friday, April 5, the Bainbridge boys were again bested by Grant 10-9 before at last hitting the road for home.
They will host Curtis High for their first game back on the island since March 22 at 7 p.m. Friday, April 12.
There are eight matches remaining on the regular season schedule.
