Kitsap Soccer Club extending youth programs to Bainbridge Island

The Kitsap Soccer Club made several announcements today.

Chief among them is the creation of an indoor soccer team under the Pumas banner to compete in the Professional Arena Soccer League this fall.

The team will compete in the PASL-Pro Frontier Division and play a 12-game schedule yet to be announced. Teams in the Pro Frontier Division are evaluated throughout the season with the goal of becoming a fully vested member of the league for the following season. Tickets are now being sold through www.brownpapertickets.com

Open tryouts will be held for the team Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Olympic Soccer & Sports Center in Bremerton with a 10:30 a.m. check-in time. The fee is $50 per player. Interested players can pre-register at the team’s website at www.kitsapsoccerclub.com. All interested players must complete registration forms and pay fee before tryouts.

The KSC also announced an extension of its “Pumas Cubs” Micro Youth Development Program for kids ages 4-8 to the North Kitsap and Bainbridge area.

Signups for the program start Friday through the team’s website, with training to start next week once the registration minimums are met and occur once a week. Each player will receive an official Pumas t-shirt.

The club is partnering with the Bainbridge Island Parks and Recreation District to start a program called “Bitty Beckhams.” Kids ages 3 to 4 will work with a Puma player and a member of the coaching staff to learn basic soccer skills.

Sessions begin Oct. 9 and run every Saturday through Oct. 30.

For kids ages 2.5 to 3.5 the times are 10 to 10:30 a.m. and the cost is $45. For kids ages 3.5 to 4.5 the times are 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. and the cost is $50.
