King drills two homers in Bainbridge fastpitch win

BAINBRIDGE - Deahna King was mighty on the mound, at blistering at the bat, as Bainbridge bested West Seattle 7-2 in the first game of a girls softball double-header earlier this week.

BAINBRIDGE – Deahna King was mighty on the mound, at blistering at the bat, as Bainbridge bested West Seattle 7-2 in the first game of a girls softball double-header earlier this week.

The game was initially scheduled for March 31, but it was rained out before it became official.

At the do-over this week at the Bainbridge fastpitch field, West Seattle was the home team in a game played before the start of their regularly scheduled April 20 matchup.

Bainbridge jumped out to a 3-0 lead, with West Seattle showing some life in the second to cut the Spartan advantage to 3-1.

King connected on the second of her two home runs in the contest, however, in the third and the Spartans ran out to a 6-0 lead, assisted by a few errors on the Wildcats’ side.

King pitched all seven innings and finished with six strikeouts.

At the plate, King went 2-for-3 with two homers and five RBIs.

Megan Spray went 3-for-4 for Bainbridge, with a double and an RBI, and teammate Riley Gregoire was also impressive, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

Brynn Snodgrass was the bright spot for the Wildcats; she had two doubles and two runs in the game.
