The Bainbridge boys and girls cross country teams qualified for districts thanks to their performance Thursday at the Metro League meet at Lower Woodland Park in Seattle.

The girls took fifth overall with 84 points, missing out on fourth by two points.

Isabel Ferguson was the top finisher for the girls with her sixth place finish while Signe Lindquist was seventh. Both finished with a time of 20:31.

Pearl Terry was 16th while Anna Misenti was 26th. Courtney Odell was 29th while Courtney Parker was 32nd. Theodosia Fehsenfeld was 39th.

The boys took sixth overall with 146 points, just missing out on fifth by one point.

Tyler Cox was the top finisher for the boys with a time of 17:45 to finish 22nd. Sean LaBelle was 23rd while Tomas Delgado was 32nd.

Payten Marshall was 33rd while Davin Fitzgerald was 36th. Brendan Willerford was 45th while John Murphy was 46th.

According to head coach Anne Howard Lindquist, the boys team set personal records and bettered last year’s eighth place finish. Cox and LaBelle also moved onto the school’s top ten list for times at the Lower Woodland course.

Three girls also set personal records for the course.

Many runners set personal times in the JV/open race. Austin Harper was the top finisher for the Bainbridge boys’ team with a 15th place finish while Joli Holmes was sixth overall in the girls race.

The 3A Sea-King District 2 race is Oct. 28 at Lake Sammammish State Park in Issaquah.
