BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge Island Boys Gymnastics team recently took to the mats with statewide rivals at the Washington State Meet on Bainbridge and finished their season with their best efforts.
Level 4 dynamo Leo Koch (age 6) tied for third place on vault and snagged fourth on pommel horse for a sixth-place finish overall.
Level 4 age 7-8 boys also delivered with Roland Koch’s routine on Pommel nailing third and an 11th-place finish overall.
Charlie Phillips tied for 13th on the floor and wrapped it up with a 20th place in the all around.
Level 5 gymnasts from Bainbridge didn’t disappoint, either.
For the 9-10 age group, Jayden Wood-Johnson flipped to fourth on the floor and landed in ninth overall.
For the 11-and-up group, Owen Scheer blasted the competition on pommel winning a silver and tying for sixth place overall.
Jacob Hall muscled a solid seventh-place finish on pommel and eighth on both vault and floor placing him in fifth in the all around.
Level 6 12-and up Aidan Cretarolo held his own amidst tough competition tying for sixth on floor and walking away with a 14th-place finish overall.
Level 8 veteran Kiernan Liberman swung to gold on high bar and claimed silver for rings and vault earning him a bronze medal finish overall for the 12-13 year-old age group.
Colin Hansen also snagged gold on rings and sailed away with a silver medal finish all around for the 15-and-up age group.
After a two-day battle of the best in state, Bainbridge athletes measured up. Gymnasts Jayden Wood-Johnson, Owen Scheer, Jacob Hall, Collin Hansen and Kiernan Liberman all qualified for the regional meet to be held in Bozeman, Montana in April.
