North Kitsap 42, Olympic 7

The Trojans hung tough for a while, but North Kitsap eventually hit some big plays en route to a 42-7 win Friday night in Poulsbo. North Kitsap only led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter on a score with 55.5 seconds left in the stanza, but found the end zone twice in the second quarter and three times in the third. Colton Bower threw five touchdown passes for the Vikings, three of which were on plays of 40 yards or more. Jaxson Gore and Logan Sloman each caught a pair of touchdowns, and Ethan Guerra added another on a 63-yard catch-and-run.

Bainbridge 49, Kingston 3

The Spartans had no problem against the Bucs, finding the end zone early and often as they improved to 2-1 in league play. Freshman quarterback Jack Grant completed 12 of 16 passes for 195 yards and four touchdowns in just under three quarters of play. Grant now has nine touchdown passes in his past two games with no interceptions. His connection with junior receiver Luke Lavigne has continued to be fruitful as Lavigne was on the receiving end of three of those four aerial scores giving him 11 receiving touchdowns on the season. Running back Micah Bryant also eclipsed the 100-yard mark on the ground for the second-consecutive game.

Timberline 31, Central Kitsap 28

A late 44-yard field goal sunk the Cougars against Timberline despite an outstanding ground game that nearly carried them to victory. Central Kitsap led 28-14 in the third quarter and remained ahead by one score as it entered the fourth. Kouper Hall rushed for 156 yards and three touchdowns for Central Kitsap, and Kalai Pasi ran for 128 yards and a score.

Bremerton 35, Sequim 29

The Knights jumped out to a 21-0 lead and hung on as Sequim made a serious charge in the second half. Jayden Quenga rushed 13 times for 188 yards and a touchdown, and Jhunior Aquino scored twice and added 63 rushing yards. Sequim cut Bremerton’s lead to 21-14, but Joshua Tapangco hit Junior Newman for a touchdown to restore their two score lead. The two teams traded scores from there as Jakobi Serrato added a touchdown in the fourth to keep the Wolves at bay.

Olympia 42, South Kitsap 16

South Kitsap scored a pair of second-half touchdowns, but they could not slow down Olympia’s aerial attack in a 42-16 loss. Bears quarterback Gabe Downing threw five touchdown passes, including three to junior receiver Mason Juergens. The Wolves trailed 35-0 before getting on the board on an 8-yard touchdown run from Jorden Lee. Lee then found Nate Ericson in the end zone on a pass for the two-point conversion. Lee also threw a 46-yard touchdown to receiver Brayden Skovald and then scored the subsequent two-point conversion on a run.

Bellevue Christian 30, Klahowya 28

Logan Wallis returned a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown to cut Bellevue Christian’s lead back to two points in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles could not draw any closer than that. Carson Moore tossed a pair of touchdown passes in the first half and rushed for a third as Klahowya opened up a 20-14 lead at halftime, but Bellevue Christian took the lead on a touchdown and two-point conversion in the third and added another rushing score in the fourth.
