DeVries, Wagner claim sixth place

KENNEWICK - The Bainbridge High boys doubles team of Ben DeVries and Eli Wagner claimed the sixth place spot in the 2015 3A Boys Tennis Doubles Championships last weekend at Kamiakin High School and the Tri City Court Club.

KENNEWICK – The Bainbridge High boys doubles team of Ben DeVries and Eli Wagner claimed the sixth place spot in the 2015 3A Boys Tennis Doubles Championships last weekend at Kamiakin High School and the Tri City Court Club.

The Bainbridge players first bested Matt Inman and Brian Walker of Kamiakin High 2-0 (6-4, 6-1) Friday, May 29 before moving on to beat Trey Von Gortier and Hayden Clark from Lakeside 2-0 (6-2, 6-4) later that day.

On Saturday, the duo faced off against Hunter Eggers and Daniel Foster of Bellevue and fell 2-0 (6-0, 6-2).

Eggers and Foster went on to claim the top spot in the league and the BHS team played Peter Williams and Cameron Coe from Mercer Island for sixth place.

They struggled through the tough match, but were beaten 2-0 (6-1, 6-2).

The sixth-place win marked the fourth showing at state for DeVries and the first by Wagner.
