BIR 8+ girls win at Windermere

The Bainbridge Island Rowing Varsity Girls 8+ boat darted to a first-place finish at the 27th annual Windermere Cup last weekend in Seattle.

The Bainbridge Island Rowing Varsity Girls 8+ boat darted to a first-place finish at the 27th annual Windermere Cup last weekend in Seattle.

The Bainbridge team was invited to the opening day races on the Montlake Cut after their strong showing at the Brentwood Regatta on Vancouver Island, where the high school 8+ boat won a silver medal.

On May 4 in Seattle, the Bainbridge team claimed a Lyson Cup victory for girls high school 8+ boats.

Bainbridge finished first with a time of 7:12.9.

Brentwood College was second in 7:21.7; followed by Rose City in third, 7:24.7; Sammamish Rowing in fourth, 7:28.9; and Lakeside in fifth, 7:30.4.

The Bainbridge 8+ team is Elizabeth Chun, Hannah Sneiderman, Hanna Christoffersen, Justine Komak, Ena Nimb, Sammantha Dore, Katrina Kerrigan, Sydney Severson and Maia McNett (cox).
