Bainbridge wins final league meet in gymnastics

The Spartans soared to a win over Ingraham and Nathan Hale in girls gymnastics at Nathan Hale High.

SEATTLE — The Spartans soared to a win over Ingraham and Nathan Hale in girls gymnastics late last week at Nathan Hale High.

Bainbridge finished first with a score of 154.65, while Ingraham had 144.65 and Nathan Hale, 130.6 in the team’s final regular season meet of the year.

The Spartans saw standout performances from Siqi Talley and Remi Rosencrans.

Talley was the all-around champion, with a score of 33.6. Rosencrans was second (31.7), while teammate Emma Chee    was third (30.6).

Bainbridge took first and second places in the vault, and another Spartan also tied for third.

Rosencrans finished first in the event with a score of 8.15.

Talley was second with 8.1, while Ashleigh Cate tied for third for BHS with 7.6.

Two Spartans also shared the seventh-place spot with a tie at 7.4: Chee and Alathea Pippinger.

On bars, it was again an all-Bainbridge show in the top three spots.

Talley was first (8.6), Rosencrans placed second (7.8) and Chee won third (7).

The beam also belonged to Bainbridge.

Talley came away with the win with a score of 8.9.

Cate earned second place (8.2), while teammate Karena Klinkenberg    (8.1) swung her way into a three-way tie for third with Ingraham’s Nathalie Shoji and Shannon Fadich.

Chee also tied for sixth (7.9), while BHS’ Briana Bruyere tied for eighth place (7.6).

Nathan Hale saw its one bright spot of the night, with a first-place finish on floor. Lily Hatzenbeler won the event for the Raiders, with a score of 8.5.

Rosencrans was right behind with 8.35 and a second place for BHS.

Chee (8.3) was third; Pippinger placed fourth (8.2); and Talley finished fifth (8).

Other noteworthy placements for the Spartans in the all-around competition were Pippinger in seventh (28.4) and Briana Bruyere in 10th (26.9).
