BOISE, IDAHO – Bainbridge varsity cross country runners took 12th place in both the mens and womens 5,000-meter events at last weekend’s Nike Cross Regional meet in Boise, Idaho.

The track was a little chillier than the speedy Spartans were used to, said Spartan Head Coach Anne Howard Lindquist.

“Snowy conditions at the Nike NXR Northwest meet changed the feel of racing,” she said. “Our team enjoyed the challenge of the competition and unusual course conditions, let alone messing around in the snow.  Keith Carlson, racing for the coveted ‘stuffed cow’ for top finishers, had an impressive 10th-place finish.”

“Unfortunately, the Dairy Council has dropped their sponsorship and Keith won an exclusive Nike Cross Regional Top 10 T-shirt instead,” she added.

BHS finished twelfth in the womens event with a combined team score of 293, and likewise in the mens event with a score of 314.

The Nike Cross Regional meet was the final event of the BHS cross country season.
