The Spartans recorded five new state-qualifying times this weekend. Bainbridge posted three new times in their 95-75 loss to O’Dea Friday.
Senior Cody Jenkins qualified for his first state event – the 200-yard individual medley – with a time of two minutes and five seconds.
Sophomore Andrew McCarthy, who has already met the time standard for the 500-yard freestyle, will also swim the 200-yard freestyle at state.
Colin Chupik will join McCarthy in the 100-yard butterfly in the state meet, and has also qualified for the 50 and 100-yard freestyles.
The Spartans also recorded more than a dozen district-qualifying times.
At the Kentridge Invitational, the team of David Ortyn, Jenkins, McCarthy and Chupik qualified in the 200-yard freestyle relay while Jenkins qualified for his second individual event, the 100-yard butterfly.
Next up, Bainbridge hosts Seattle Prep at 3:30 p.m. Friday. The team has four more contests before the Metro League meet begins Feb. 5.
