Bainbridge Rope Skippers take firsts in B.C.

Members of the Bainbridge Island Rope Skippers brought home several first-place finishes from the recent Fraser Valley Classic Speed and Power Jump Rope Tournament in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia – Members of the Bainbridge Island Rope Skippers brought home several first-place finishes from the recent Fraser Valley Classic Speed and Power Jump Rope Tournament in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

The island team’s first-place wins were earned by Camille Zaro, in both the 30-second and three-minute speeds in the rookie 11 to 12-year-old category, and, in four-person Double Dutch pairs, the group of Claire Dumouchel, Serena Johnson, Anna Bjur and Natalie Bennett.

Zaro and teammates Alice Kimzey and Bianca Daniel also placed first in the Double Dutch double unders event, ages 11 to 12.

In the female senior division (15 and up) of the same event, the team of Trinity Schou, Marina Correa and Natalie Bennett turned in a flawless performance, placing first and beating second-place Bainbridge teammates Anna Bjur, Claire Dumouchel and Serena Johnson by one jump in the same event.

Several others on the team gave standout performances as well.

In the three-minute speed event (ages 13-14), Claire Dumouchel took second place and Bianca Daniel (11-12) won third.

In Double Dutch pairs double unders, Marina Correa, Trinity Shou, Harper Naon and Camille Zaro took third place (13-14).

Alice Kimzey, Harper Naon, Trinity Shou and Camille Zaro nabbed second place in the Single Rop Power Relay (11-12) event and Anna Bjur, Marina Correa, Claire Dumouchel and Serena Johnson took third (15 plus).

In the 30-second speed event, Bianca Daniel was third place (11-12) and Alice Kimzey was fourth (11-12).

In the 4×30 speed relay, Bianca Daniel, Harper Naon, Trinity Shou and Camille Daniel brought home a third-place finish (11-12), as did Anna Bjur, Marina Correa, Claire Dumouchel and Serena Johnson (15 plus).

Second place (11-12) in the Double Dutch speed relay was earned by Bianca Daniel, Alice Kimzey and Camille Zaro and (15 plus) Anna Bjur, Claire Dumouchel and Serena Johnson.

Natalie Bennett, Anna Bjur, Claire Dumouchel and Serena Johnson took second place in Double Dutch pairs speed (15 plus) and third place was claimed by Marina Correa, Harper Naon, Trinity Shou and Camille Zaro (13-14).
