The Bainbridge Spartans varsity boys basketball team will host Nathan Hale tonight at 7:45 p.m. at Bainbridge High School’s Paski Gymnasium.
Capacity crowds are expected, school officials said earlier today, as there is much hype surrounding the faceoff.
Nathan Hale has dominated the prep basketball scene far and wide this season. With a three-time NBA All Star for a head coach (Brandon Roy) and a flawless record (15-0 overall, 10-0 in conference), the prestige is not unmerited.
The Bainbridge boys did, however, best the Raiders last year — twice, in fact — albeit when facing a different coach and roster.
BHS students are being asked to enter the gym at the ASB doors and bring their ASB cards to enter for free tonight.
They will be given an orange ticket that they then must have to actually enter the gym.
In the event the building reaches capacity, officials said, no one — student or adult — will be able to enter the facilities.
There will be a prominent sign announcing “SOLD OUT” if capacity is reached.
“If you plan to watch the varsity game at 7:45 p.m., please come early and watch the JV game to assure yourself a seat,” officials said. “As usual, students will not be allowed re-entry if they leave the gym facilities.”
