Three members of the Bainbridge High girls lacrosse team have been named to the 2012 U.S. Lacrosse All-American team.

Kelsey Mackin, Grace Deery-Schmitt and Madeline Stevenson received the honor.

Mackin, a senior midfielder, and Grace Deery-Schmitt, also a senior midfielder, were selected as part of the five 2012 US Lacrosse Girls All-Americans Washington state picks.

Stevenson, a junior goalkeeper for the Spartans, was one of three 2012 US Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention Washington state selections.

The honors were announced by the Washington State Chapter of U.S. Lacrosse. A total of 14 high school student-athletes in Washington were named to the 2012 US Lacrosse All-American team.

According to U.S. Lacrosse, student-athletes named to the U.S. Lacrosse All-American Team are considered the best high school lacrosse players in the United States. To be honored, student-athletes must be an All-State selection, must be in good standing at his or her school and must exhibit sportsmanship on and off the field.

Washington recipients are selected by a state committee made up of varsity coaches from eastern and western Washington, as assigned by U.S. Lacrosse.
