O’Dea overpowered Bainbridge 47-6 in football Friday during the Spartans’ homecoming Metro League matchup.

The Fighting Irish scored first on a 19-yard touchdown run with 7:29 left in the first quarter, but the Spartans answered on their next possession to pull to within 7-6 after a thrilling 62-yard pass play put them in the red zone.

A disastrous second quarter doomed the Spartans, however, as the offense stalled amid multiple mistakes and turnovers and the Irish capitalized.

O’Dea scored 40 unanswered points before halftime.
