SEATTLE – The Spartans were barely bested in a 58-57 game on the road against O’Dea High Tuesday.
The loss on the road brought the boys varsity basketball team season record to 1-3.
Bainbridge led the game initially, outscoring O’Dea 14-6 in the first quarter.
It was an intensity, however, that they could not maintain.
In the second quarter, the host school lead 17-13 and pulled further ahead to an even greater advantage (18-6) in the third.
Bainbridge seemed to pull together in the fourth and again outscored the Fighting Irish (24-17), but it was not enough.
Ben Beatie led BHS in points, and earned 21 in the game.
Trent Schulte managed to score 12 total points, while Blake Swanson added eight and Lyle Terry again distinguished himself this season with six points scored.
