Thomas E. McDowell died Dec. 1 in Bremerton.

He was born Dec, 4, 1920, in Dustin, Okla.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie McDowell of Bainbridge Island; three sons, Tommy (Linda) McDowell of Port Orchard, James McDowell of Seattle, and Douglas (Judy) McDowell of Lakewood; stepson John Backland and stepdaughter Nellie O’Hannes; a brother, Eldon McDowell; sisters Ruth McDowell, Mildred Chandler and Wilma Dyer; and grandchildren Gail and Chris McDowell of Port Orchard, Savannah and Tucker McDowell of Lakewood.
