Russell Trackwell, age 76, died Jan. 16 on Bainbridge Island.

He was born Oct. 22, 1926 in Oakland, Calif. to Raymond Mason Trackwell and Hildur Nelson Trackwell. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in engineering.

He worked for CalTex Oil Company from 1948-1985. During his management career he worked in Tokyo, England, The Philippines, India and Bahrain. He retired to Bainbridge Island in 1985.

He enjoyed gardening and spent countless hours studying the battles of the Civil War.

He is survived by his wife Ruth of Bainbridge Island; one son, Phillip Trackwell of Singapore; one daughter, Teresa Kuhnau of Aberdeen; one sister, Darlene Johansen of Roseville, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

At his request, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home, Bainbridge Island.
