Rochelle Reynolds

Rochelle Noel Reynolds (Slentz), beloved daughter, mother, wife, relative and friend, passed on this past October, at the age of 66.

She was born in Palo Alto, California, and was raised in Fullerton and Laguna Beach.

Rochelle graduated from Laguna high school and Stanford University. After living in the wild and free country of northern California for a number of years, she moved to Washington state with her husband in 1984. They lived on Bainbridge Island for the remainder of her life.

Rochelle found satisfaction in gardening and cooking, and long walks doing earthy things. She especially liked the promise of the month of May. She knew all the flowers in her garden, counted her children and grandchildren amongst them, loving them the most.

Mom was a world-wise traveler. She visited more than 30 countries, often to places off the beaten track, always appreciating other people’s approach to life.

Rochelle had a strong code of honor. She was always truthful and realistic; but she tempered her strength with great tenderness.

Mom compiled simple, poignant lists of gratitude that captured the meaning and joy of everyday life. We are most grateful for the precious times she shared with us, and the lessons she taught us for living an honorable life. So my dear, I will see you in the sky above, in the ones we made and the ones we love. You are going to make me lonesome when you go.

There will be a memorial in May.
